Bio

Jeannette brings to her professional life a rich and varied artistic background. Her singing career was nurtured at an early age by parents who were professional singers and voice teachers. Her acting life began as a young student of Molly Smith, Artistic Director of Arena Stage in Washington D.C. and founder of Perseverance Theatre in Juneau, Alaska. Her training at Perseverance led her to New York where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her studies there, and subsequent educational experiences in the states and abroad, inform much of her teaching and performing to this day. She teaches private voice and master classes throughout the northwest and leads seminars in public speaking, helping participants gain confidence in their deliveries, guiding them to a more nuanced and natural connection to their text and audience. Another important branch of her vocal tree is as a voiceover artist, working regularly for educational companies Houghton-Mifflin and McGraw Hill, as well as other commercial recordings and videos.

She was soprano soloist in Cirque du Soleil’s Mystére in Las Vegas. Her association with Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre includes roles and ensemble in Sweeney Todd, Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, Oliver (Rose Seller), Beautiful Poison (workshop), their Spotlight Night series, private donor events and teaching voice and song interpretation in their summer program. She has sung in Showtunes Theatre’s productions of Nine (Our Lady of the Spa) and George M (Faye Templeton), in the Seattle Opera Chorus, the esteemed vocal ensemble The Esoterics, and has been a guest artist with the Seattle Men’s Chorus on numerous occasions. She performed in Austria and Switzerland with Seattle composer Amy Denio and immersed herself in an extended study program of Italian in Perugia, Italy before their tour. She went on to study at the Cabaret Conference at Yale University where she met Tex Arnold and Laurel Massé with whom she collaborated on her debut CD Stage Road. More recently, she joined forces with guitarist John Patrick Lowrie and the two are happily collaborating. She is also the lead singer of the new group Rhythmodique.
